Create\u00a0an edible bouquet\u00a0with these delicious\u00a0MARSHMALLOW POPS!\u00a0\"Marshmallow<\/a> Recently I styled a party for a 13 year old dancer who wanted everything pretty and pink<\/strong>. So we went with the elaborate ballet tutu cake with point shoes on top\u00a0and an all-out pretty pink theme. The dessert table was full of delicious delights<\/strong> like chocolate covered strawberries with pink chocolate drizzles, ice cream sundae cupcakes, mini ballerina tutu cupcakes, pink ombre mini cakes, iced cookies, pink lollies\u00a0and of course MARSHMALLOW POPS!!<\/strong> There is something\u00a0about those individually created marshmallow pop and how gorgeous they look grouped together that gets me excited every time I make them… and see them! \"Marshmallow<\/a> I would like to show you my method of making these pops<\/strong> which is really very simple to achieve. At first when I was experimenting with this I just melted the chocolate<\/strong> without any additives and I found\u00a0it\u00a0difficult to get a good even coverage and\u00a0 it dried so quickly in the bowl, I was forever reheating… grrr.\u00a0I found\u00a0if you add some vegetable shortening to the chocolate it seems to solve this problem and makes life so much easier. I usually have Crisco shortening on hand,\u00a0which can be bought from specialty food\/cake decorating shops in Australia, and basically anywhere in the States.<\/p>\n

Here’s my ballerina cake set up at the venue. Filled with layers of strawberry cake and vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream. Handmade sugar ballet shoes with swirling antigravity ribbons. All edible.<\/p><\/div>\n

You can\u00a0make these marshmallow pops suit any party theme by changing the colour of the straw and the combination of sprinkles but today I will show you the pretty pink version which would suit all sorts of party themes like; princess, glamour, whimsical, wonderland, magical, beauty, baby shower, kitchen tea<\/strong> you name it!<\/p>\n

What you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A packet of 20 or more bright patterned paper straws.<\/li>\n
  2. A packet of nice fat marshmallows if you can find them (I couldn’t find any for this demo)<\/li>\n
  3. 225 grams white chocolate (or candy melts in the colour you want)<\/li>\n
  4. 1\/2 tablespoon of vegetable shortening\u00a0or 1 tablespoon for real chocolate<\/li>\n
  5. 4 -6 different types of sprinkles, glitter, coconut or anything you like, that co ordinate well together<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
