I would eat a plate of cheese quite happily and that would be my go-to when ordering from the dessert menu at any restaurant&#8230;. but these days no cheese for me \ud83d\ude41  I have tried store bought dairy free cheeses and they really aren&#8217;t great so I thought I would try making my own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The combination of ingredients makes for a flavoursome cheese which can be eaten with crackers, smeared on toast or even mixed through your favourite pasta&#8230; I like it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most ingredients are easy to find, many of you will already have these in your pantry, there&#8217;s nothing too weird about this recipe. If you want the finished cheese to have more of a yellowy colour just add a pinch of tumeric. This is how it&#8217;s done&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VEGAN CHEESE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a food processor or a blender add \u00bd cup natural cashews that\nhave been soaked in warm water for 30 minutes and drained<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp of each dried basil, dried oregano, salt, lemon juice and\nmaple syrup <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp minced garlic or garlic powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 \u00bd tsp corn flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 tblsp nutritional yeast<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd cup water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blend for about 3 &#8211; 5 minutes until\nsmooth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a saucepan add \u00bd cup water and 1 \u00bd tsp\nagar agar, stir, then add in the cashew mix and bring to boil, stirring\nconstantly, until thick<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grease a ramekin, fill with mixture\nand chill for at least an hour or overnight<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SALTY\nSEEDED CRACKERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre heat oven to 150C and line 2\nbaking trays with baking paper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a bowl combine 1\/3 cup of each\ncoconut flour, flax seed, pepitas, seseme seeds, sunflower seeds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tblsp ground psyllium husks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp sea salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then add 1 cup boiling water and \u00bc cup\nmelted coconut oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mix to combine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roll out very thin onto the prepared\ntrays <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can sprinkle with more sea salt if\nyou want them super salty<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bake for approx. 35 \u2013 45 minutes, then\nlet cool, break into pieces and enjoy with your vegan cheese <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would love it if you could share my post using any of the buttons below and let me know how this worked for you.
